The Outlast Trials is een first-person psychologische horror survival videogame ontwikkeld en uitgegeven door Red Barrels. Het is het derde deel in de Outlast-serie en dient als prequel op de eerste twee spellen. Het spel werd uitgebracht op 18 mei 2023 via early access voor Microsoft Windows.
In The Outlast Trials moeten spelers een aantal opdrachten uitvoeren terwijl ze monsterlijke vijanden moeten ontwijken. Het spel bevat vier verschillende klassen en vaardigheidsbomen. Elke klasse heeft een unieke vaardigheid, waarmee spelers acties kunnen uitvoeren zoals door muren kijken, andere spelers genezen, mijnen plaatsen en een apparaat gooien om vijanden tijdelijk te verdoven. De speler kan niet rechtstreeks tegen vijanden vechten en kan ze hooguit tijdelijk verdoven met bepaalde voorwerpen, dus stealth is de beste manier om verder te komen in het spel. Hoewel het spel coöperatieve multiplayer voor vier spelers ondersteunt, kunnen spelers het spel ook solo voltooien.
Na 2 jaar early access is The Outlast Trials eindelijk volledig gelanceerd op 5 maart 2024 op Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S en PlayStation 5 met versie 1.0:
